1880 Boston Road is a 168-unit senior and supportive housing project in the West Farms neighborhood of the Bronx adjacent to the Cross Bronx Expressway. The nine-story building includes seven stories of housing and, on the bottom two floors, a primary care clinic and an adult day center for individuals living with cerebral palsy. The seven-story residential tower was built on top of the existing two-story building. We collaborated with for-profit Foxy Management, our partner on three previous affordable housing projects, and the Hebrew Home for the Aged, an experienced and respected Bronx nonprofit agency that provides case management services, recreational and support activities. The building includes a second floor terrace with a garden overlooking Boston Road and the elevated subway. SLCE Architects has designed a number of Alembic projects, including three other buildings in the Bronx.
