Alembic Community Development works in partnership with community residents and leaders to transform low-income neighborhoods and to strengthen the nonprofit organizations that serve them.


Alembic Community Development accomplishes its work in two ways: we develop affordable and supportive housing, usually in joint venture partnerships with nonprofit housing and service providers; and we offer a range of consulting services, including organizational and program development, strategic and business planning, community planning and real estate finance.

Work Begins on Cultural Arts Center

Work began in September 2012 on the landscape portion of the first phase of the Donald Harrison Sr. Cultural Arts Museum in the Upper 9th Ward of New Orleans, a joint effort by Alembic Community Development, the Tulane City Center, and the Guardians Institute.
